This has me baffled! I decided to wipe my hard drive and start fresh. The Windows 7 Home Premium was a trial version I found out well after buying the machine, (Acer AM5811), and I had no key code to satisfy Bill Gates and the troup. I was having problems with the machine crashing and Acer said it might be that their software wasn't properly installed so I decided to start from scratch. I bought a copy of Windows 7 Pro OEM and figured I could kill two birds with one stone. Provide Microsoft with a product code to shut them up and get rid of Acer software altogether. Good plan - bad outcome. Following downloading the Windows 7 Pro software, I found I had no internet. I kept getting "Error 651, no internet adaptor". I thought that odd since I had internet before loading the new disc. So I gave in and loaded my three Acer backup discs in along with the new 7. That gave me the internet and I was happy to have solved the problem except now I had no audio! What the.....? So off I went in search of all the Intel drivers I could find then I downloaded SlimDrivers to get my audio back. That didn't work! I thought, "Oh well, let's load the Windows 7 Pro again and see what happens". Hey, what do you know, my audio has returned. So I clicked on I.E. only to find I had no internet adaptor again. And once again Error code 651. At this point, I reloaded my Acer backups to give me internet but I still have no sound! It would be nice to have both, Any ideas as to what may be going on?
