Hi i am going to be building my first pc soon and wanted to know whats better the 3570k or the 8350 for gaming i have a budget of 850 for the pc

Solution
On older games the I5 would run smoother by few FPS, However with the new games coming out this year they will be implementing more core usage making the 8350 a ideal match for the games.

For games right now there isn't going to be a big difference either way, maybe a lil in favour of the i5 with older games as jacob said but with next gen games on the horizon and the price difference i would go for the 8350.

the motherboard will support the 8350 fine but i would suggest ordering a new heatsink because for some reason the 8350's run very hot i would recommend the hyper 212 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099) keeps it at a solid 20c

A HD 7970 or R9-280X would do just fine to achieve that.

A HD 7950 could be had for about $200 right now would also get you likely better than 50 FPS.

My HD 7870XT runs it on high settings around 50-60 FPS pretty steady, and it's just short of the HD 7950.

Probably not before 2015 at the earliest I would imagine.

For GPU just wait for the R9-280X, it's so worth it.

Solid 20c, them fans must scream. I suggest a closed loop liquid cooler like antec kuhler 920 thats what i use for my fx-8120. So silent!!
