I've recently had help and been advised to get the:
Zotac GeForce GTX 650 1 GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 DVI HDMI VGA Low Profile Graphics Card ZT-61008-10M

aswell as suggesting i got a 300w psu:
Seasonic SS-300TFX 300W 80PLUS BRONZE TFX Power Supply
But.. My friend told me that anoffical nvidia statement for the gtx 650 is 400 watts and also that i should get a psu that is 80plus gold... some have said the a 300w psu will work with this video card but im unsure.. help?
My computer is the lenovo h520's

processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHz
if any more info is needed just ask :)

Your are technically supposed to have a 400 Watt PSU for this card, and this card with the PSU you have now is not getting the Wattage it needs. I would just get a 500 watt PSU and be good for a long time. Whatever you do don't get an offbrand PSU.

The problem is finding a 500w psu the same size as the one i have at the at the moment but i was recommended the Seasonic SS-300TFX 300W 80PLUS BRONZE TFX Power Supply which dimensions are 14 x 3.5 x 3 inches ; 2.6 pounds any chance you can find one a similar size to this?

I solved the problem for you. http://www.ecrater.com/p/15646433/dell-inspiron-580s-tower-power that PSU should fit. Although the problem with it is that it is made by Dell so your probabl not getting what your paying for. It would run it though. You do not have a mid tower case made to fit video cards like the 650 either. The computer you bought is not made for gaming or video processing, what were you buying the GTX650 for anyways. If it is just for gaming, it will probably be cheaper in the long run to get a new computer.

I'm wanting to be able to run game's like skyrim at decent quality's smoothly, i also thought about the radeon 7750? also the video cards i'm looking at are low profile if you didn't notice:)

the GTX650 has a very low TDP of only 64W, so the PSU you have from SEASONIC is more than suficient. And is also a really good branded certified PSU
so it can handle that, I used to have the normal version SS-300ET ,managing a much more demanding GPU as 9800GTX with no issues at all.

So your saying the GTX650 and the seasonic will be good components for my system?:)
Also if you had my system would you choose the radeon HD 7750 or the gtx650?

I Have this working on a 350 watt PSU: HIS Radeon HD 6670 1GB GDDR5 it gets around 30-45 FPS Skyrim on Medium Settings No AA or shaders. Id recommend that GPU also its Low Profile to meet your specs. Heres the link
