I currently own a Phenom II X4 BE 980 in my gaming system and It had been wonderful for me! But besides gaming I've been getting more into Multi-Tasking AND Gaming which is why I wanted to upgrade to this 6-core. I've looked at the FX-8350 but I've found that from many benchmarks and comparing the three processors that the 8-core CPU was slower then my Phenom II and the FX-6350.

From some online benchmarks I've seen, Just about Everything is faster with the FX-6350 compared to my current Phenom II X4 BE 980, including the extra 2 cores.

Why big question, money aside, will i see performance in speed while multitasking with the FX-6350? and is the 6-core as good with gaming?

(On a side question, would getting a SSD compared to a regular HDD improve performance if OS is installed on it along with a video game? Will that increase speed and response time?)

If you need all my system specs I can add them, otherwise I feel it is not needed for this question ;D

Here is one of the sites I've used: http://cpuboss.com/cpus/AMD-Phenom-II-X4-Black-980-vs-AMD-FX-6350

You will only see an increase from the 980BE if it is nearing 100% usage given a particular task... Unless you are encoding or doing something that can use all the cores.

SSD makes things load faster. Games won't play faster but levels will load faster.
