I just purchased a PNY 650 GTX Ti today from Fry's Electronics. I was a little wary at first when I opened the box and there were 2 different model numbers on stickers on the card. I went ahead and installed it and installed the drivers from nvidia.com. Now looking at my device manager it is saying "650 GTX" and not "650 GTX Ti". I am wondering if this is normal or if there is any other way to find out if this is the wrong unit that came in the box.

More about : bought 650 gtx 650 gtx box

there should be like a product number on the unit itself, you can google it. Also if it only said GTX 650 and not GTX 650Ti on the box then its probably not a Ti card.

also use gpu-z to read the cards info and firmware see if it matches to any of the online info on the video card web site.

The box does say GTX 650Ti.

gpu-z also says GTX 650 instead of GTX 650Ti. Not sure how to check on what you said. Here is the validation from gpu-z http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/db357/

Did a little more research. Fixed it for myself. vcggtx650t1xpb is what is on the box, which IS a GTX 650Ti. VCGGTX6501XPB is what came inside the box which is the GTX 650. Hopefully I can get Fry's to exchange this. Thanks for the help guys.
