Guys - I'm a little confused over the choice of PSU for my new build. So far my components are:

CPU; AMD FX6300
Motherboard: ASUS M5A99FX Pro R2.0
Video card will be something budget to mid-range like Radeon HD 7950

What do you guys think?

Thanks

Yes always leave your self a little head room and never ever get a no name budget PSU. If you do more than likely your looking at a lot of headaches.

Depends on who's really manufacturing the unit before I'd say that you can trust them. OCZ uses Sirtec and FSP on their higher end units, and they are of decent quality. They also use a lot of low end manufacturers like HEC, Topower, and Great Wall: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/power-supply-oem-ma...

You ideally want something that's extremely high quality. Super Flower and Seasonic are widely regarded for producing high quality units and the resellers that produce their units are generally regarded among the best. Here are a couple of examples of units produced by these manufacturers:

Go to http://www.jonnyguru.com/ for in depth reviews of pretty much any PSU you can think of. If they say it's good, it's good. If they say it's crap, don't touch it with a 10 foot pole.
