Remounting NZXT Phantom Fan

So I have an NXZT Phantom with no additional fans installed. My Sapphire 7970 with dual fans is installed in the slot nearest to the CPU. Would it be a good idea to remount the 200mm top fan to the side panel's mount for better temps? I'm not totally sure if this would lower my temps, probably not.

I was just curious since (this is important) my top 200mm fan is facing my cpu which already is water-cooled and never goes above 53 degrees celsius even during heavy load. If I mount it on my side panel, it'll be facing the gpu and the cpu directly. Would this be a good idea or... not?

Oh yeah my system just in case...

• Case: NZXT Phantom White w/ Red Trim (Full Tower)
• CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K
• CPU Cooler: Asetek 550LC
• GPU: Sapphire Dual-fanned 7970 (950/1425)
• Motherboard: Asrock Z77 Extreme 4
• PSU: CORSAIR TX750
• RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (4 x 4GB) 1866

Actually that seems like a great idea, since your motherboard's chipset could also use some cooling (since it doesn't get airflow because your cpu is watercooled.) this is okay, as long as you have some other exhaust fans in your case. If this is the only fan in your case, just leave it at the top as an exhaust.

Give it a try, doesn't hurt to experiment. if you don't get better temps, you can always switch it back.

Yeah thanks for the info. I'm not really well-informed about ventilation, so this really helped, especially knowing now that my mobo has a chance to get some lower temps.
