Do I need to update my mobo bios?

I just installed windows 8 pro 64bit and I was wondering if I needed to update my bios? Everything is working fine just some applications are slow like when I open origin.
Mobo Asus maximus v formula. Thanks!

If everything is working fine do not update BIOS. Only do BIOS updates if something is wrong, it happens that update goes wrong and leaves you with a brick.
Slow can be caused by many things but I have never seen it caused by BIOS.

with asus mb look at the last four digits of the serial number label. that the bios rev of the mb.

if your bios rev is the same as the one 17xx that fixed gpu issues then dont flash the bios. if it lower then 17xx bios use the usb flashback port and update your bios.

Ok sounds good, I won't update it. I don't think I need to do that, as I've had no issues with my gpu but thanks for the quick answer!
