Chrome Version Version 30.0.1599.69 m
Operating System Windows 7
Skype: 6.0-6.9

Extensions (type Chrome:extensions into your omnibox): Adblock and adblock+

I have done everything you could imagine to attempt to fix this problem. Originally I felt as though my computer itself was having issues, I upgraded to a new graphics card (GTX 770) and a new monitor. I figured the new card was conflicting with my 3 year old motherboard so I replaced it with a new heat sink, new chipset (i5 4670) and 8 gigs of ram. This was all in mid september.

Unfortunately the problem persisted, and it seems to be skype and google chrome crashing together. Previous to my motherboard replacement, things used to deadlock, now both programs just don't respond, I can move them but they do the whole white out thing. After weeks of following instructions such as pretty much anything to do with the app/user data, I decided to just do a clean reinstall of the OS to attempt to troubleshoot.

Lo and behold, with only skype/chrome installed chrome is locking up. I tried other browsers to see if it was just chrome, unforutnately it affected mozilla and IE. Even with skype off the task bar, the browser instead of locking up will takes a ridiculous amount of time, most of the time stuck on the "getting cache" or something along those lines. I can't artificially create it, it's completely random. The main causes being if youtube is on any tab, or just opening new tabs causes it. Hell when I try to access google it sometimes locks up on itself.

Yes I have done multiple spyware/virus scans, including one to check for rootkits just in case. All empty, and these two programs completely lag my system to just ridiculous snail paces and it's frustrating. Thanks for anyone who has the courage to take on this challenge because I am completely dumbfounded at this point.

[strike]Did you re-install windows when you did the upgrade? If not that is at least part of your problem. When you do an upgrade that major you need to do a fresh install. [/strike]

Hmm.. Have you tried downgrading/upgrading flash?
