Mouse and Keyboard stop working at the same time.

Hello. I am new here so do forgive me for my lack of knowledge (nor am I great with computers).
Lately, as the title suggests, both my mouse and keyboard stop working at the same time.

They are not connected in anyway. Not even the same brand. My mouse is a plug (usb) and my keyboard is wireless. Sometimes when I am in a game (League of legends, or Guild Wars 2) *insert title here* happens.

My keyboard will not stop entirely: The keys will do different key actions. Some will not work at all, and others will work like normal.

My mouse will still have a movable cursor, but the left and right buttons will not work.

The only way to fix this is to restart my whole computer, but it only stays fixed for varying amounts of time. I've used many different malware/virus removers and PC cleaners, but nothing can find anything wrong.

Please help :(

Without being at your PC, my first guess is that the USB controller is starting to have issues. I'd still reinstall Windows first, but assuming that's not the issue (it'd be nice if you could get into the control panel when it happens, but when it happens, you don't have keyboard or mouse!), your best option is generally to get a little USB PCIE hub. They're not much and it's generally cheaper and less of a hassle than the alternative.
