No, it's not true. At this time, both AMD and Intel are Dual-Channel only.
That is the most incorrect thing I've seen on this forum in a while. The LGA 2011 socket has been out for over a year now and it has always been quad-channel memory configuration. All socket 2011 i7s are quad channel, and all previous LGA 1366 socket configuration i7s were triple-channel. So obviously Intel has experience with more than just dual-channel memory setups.
Now, on to OPs question... the FX-8350 DOES have a quad channel IMC (Integrated Memory Controller), and can infact run in dual or quad-channel memory depending on the type of motherboard. Some motherboards can support this, some can't, look in the BIOS for further information on how to configure it for your specific motherboard. Also it's worth noting, the FX-8350 can only support memory speeds of DDR3-1600 in quad-channel mode, where it can support DDR3-1866 in dual-channel.
Avro, I would advise Googling what you think you know before posting it, as it was wholly incorrect.
