I am getting A GTX 760 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168.... But am having trouble picking out a motherboard for my build.( the one I have picked out right nowhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... ) I will probably add another card in the next year or so but if not want to have a security net.
I've been reading around and looking at specs for mobos and know I will need 2 PCI Express 3.0 but other than that I get a little confused. What ports on the motherboard do I need to look for SLI graphics cards?
If any one could point me in the direction of what I need that would be great. Recommendations would be great.

Thanks

The motherboard you have selected should support a dual SLI setup. Some mobo companies certify specific products for SLI, but many do not go through the certification process because of the time and expense to certify. Most mobos with multiple PCI slots support SLI and/or Crossfire whether certified or not.

In setting up an SLI you will have to use two PCI slots in proximity to eachother and an SLI bridge (a wired device connecting the PCBs at the top of the two graphics cards. With that motherboard you should have an 8 X 8 PCI lane setup.

Generally people try to match graphic cards with the same model from the same OEM. But you can use any GTX 760 so long as it is a GTX 760.

Your graphics cards in SLI will work in tandem with rendering frames, but will be limited to the memory on one card.

You should not have a lot of worries in setting up your SLI, just the hardware setup (placing two graphics cards in adjacent PCI slots & connecting the SLI bridge) and software setup with the Nvidia driver.

sli x16/x16 vs. x8/x8: http://hardocp.com/article/2010/08/23/gtx_480_sli_pcie_...
GPU in PCI Express 2.0 vs 3.0: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2012/07/18/pci_express_2...

After you read those, do you need 2X pcie3.0, not real for right now, because most GPU can't take full advantage of pcie3.0. Like chesteracorgi said as long as you have at least x8/x8 for the setup, you are fine.
One thing is you need the good PSU ( at least 700w, 2X 8pin pcie + 2X 6pin pcie power connect, also 30amps on 12V rails ) for the setup, like those in the link.
