Hello there,

Yesterday, i swapped my GFX and my CPU fan and i was too distracted for some personal reasons.

Therefore, i made some bad things and i believe i wasted 2 RAM slots (A1 - B1)
I'm down to 8GB of RAM which is terrible.

Basically, when there is 3 (any possible RAM layout) or 4 RAM devices, the PC won't boot and the memory red light is on.

As i cleared the CMOS before, having the issue i was wondering if there is a default setting in the bios to disable A1-B1 ?
How to know if it is the motherboard or the CPU memory controller ?

Basically, when pulling back on the memory, 1 RAM memory wasn't pushed enough in the slot.

The solution is either to buy 2 * 8GB or to change the motherboard (i would almost prefer that one if i'm sure the motherboard is broken).

Thanks for the time to bring some insights.

Well I manage to fix the RAM issue (im really not sure what happenned here)

But i burnt the motherboard anyway. I smelled something fonky and the GFX isn't recognized anymore... Just awesome.

So now i'm running on the sandybridge GFX and no way to recognize the GTX760 nor the 7770 (excluding the power supply / gfx issue).

So i'm back at square one.. And another config to make..

So now it is either a motherboard, or motherboard + CPU. To be defined

For those who may wonder. Just swapped the MB from a gen 1 to gen 3. No compatibility issue so far.

On another hand, i have recovered the GFX and the RAM. Back in business.
