Ok, about a year ago I left my desktop pc on overnight, I came in the morning and on the screen there was the message that on two usb ports there was a power surge, I thought nothing of it as I know what it means. I turned off the pc, I came back a day later, tried to turn it on, but to no avail, when it turned on (it is windows xp) it would be blank for about 4 minutes, then all of a sudden the monitor would click and come on, it would show some kind detailed specs of the pc (the normal one that would show before bootup) and it would give me the option to go into bios, it would show this for a few secs, dissapear and that would be it, the keyboard would not respond, and the lights would flash the first time the pc turned on but the num lock light wouldn't come on, but when the screen came on it would do the same thing, but the keyboard wouldn't do anything, I tried a ps/2 keyboard and a usb, the mouse light would always be on though, how would I fix this? It was a while since I last attempted to start it so I will check again with updated details, also the two usb plugs it reported to have shorted don't work, also they are part of the motherboard and are joined together, and a long usb extension cable was connected to it, and a wireless wifi dongle was connected to that, the dongle dind't work for a while but started working about 3 months after, it was also raining, so I think what caused this was a bad shortage? But how would I fix it?
