ok i have a wifi here but most rooms in pattaya that so stupid one of the biggest tourist city the thing is my friend was trying to find a apartment to rent everyone of them is forbidden to install a walljack for wifi stupid those old people here but the thing is my friend wants a wifi so if u can not install a jack on the wall for modem then what can you do is there something else on market these days that can connect without the wall just connect at a normal electricity ?

Solution
Not that I know of because they need to get the internet from something.

Only one I know of that does not need anything but power are cellular modes(work on the mobile phone network).

How do people get a normal phone in these apartments?
So you still have POWER?

You can just connect a modem to your wireless router. I am going to guess you will have cable or whatever else for the internet to come in on?

If you are without power for some reason, you may be able to use a battery + voltage regulator to run a wireless access point. This battery will still need to be changed when it gets low.

If you just want to connect to systems(not with internet) you can setup an ad-hoc wireless network to allow the systems to talk to each other(this assumes you have power for a desktop or a laptop).

We may need MUCH more info since your post is very hard to understand.

haha sorry for that ok the thing is just is there a stuff there that can plug in a regular power on the wall without buying a walljack and put it by himself because he can't do that because they don't allow that here on his apartment that he is renting oh yeah there is enough power here but only thing we can not install a walljack. and then i saw this http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/19137873/TP-Link-TL-PA211KIT-200Mbps-Mini-Powerline-Ethernet-Adapter-Homeplug-AV-Twin-Pack/Product.html is there a possible way to use this with out installing a walljack right ? sorry if you don't understand much from this post is because my language is not english is icelandic so i hope you can understand :)

If they have no jacks for coaxial or phone ,you can get internet with those and connect it to a router. If not, the only other thing I can see is cellular internet, but that cost quite a bit more(WAY too much in some cases).

How do you get normal internet in those apartments? Does your ISP just install a modem?

If they do the modem can be connected to a router to give wireless. The modem to router connection does not require anything extra but power and whatever was already used to connect the modem.

Would that work for you?

i really don't know only thing people tell me is go on a nearest company that can provide you internet access for month payment and they will come and install it for you it is i don't want them to install the walljack because there is no jack for phone or coaxial so i saw this http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/?model=TL-PA211 in a store here so i was wondering is this helpful or not can i use this without installing a jack on the wall :)

The product linked replaces the need for an Ethernet cable. So instead of running a cable from one room to another, you plug two of those(one per side) then use Ethernet on each end to connect to your devices(the device can actually be a router and modem if needed).

The problem is that device does not give you internet, it can only be used to get internet or a home network from room to room(wireless already does this, but HomePlug does so without as much chance of interference). It is more ideal for desktops or fixed devices as you do need a wire from the unit to the device on each side.

ok thanks it is because my friend don't like using mobile network he is using like an aircard 8gb and it is really expensive :) but thanks for trying to help :D

I just want to make sure this is clear.

any place that you can get internet for a desktop, you can replace that desktop with a wireless router/access point and have wireless.

I find it hard to believe that they have apartments that do not allow phone/tv/internet(I thought no pets allowed was bad).

I was staying in Pattaya from the start of November to the start of February 2018 i stayed with https://rent-buy-thailand.com/ where they had supplied me with a code to use the internet for 1 month at a cost of 400 baht less than £10 so can not complain at that price was fast enough to do what i had to do. I also purchased a tourist sim card from 711 shop you need you passport to get one i also paid just under 500 baht for 30 days with over 4gb of data i thought was quite fair was pretty fast infact found it to be better than my UK sim. When searching pattaya estate agents it was a must for me to have internet
