Hi everyone.

Right now i have a FX 8350 which im thinking about OC it to 4.8.
I also have an XFX 7950 but im going to sell it and get a sapphire vapor X 7970 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... ) and maybe OC it too or maybe not. I dont know yet.
My first question is, will this bottleneck?

Im also thinking about OC'ing my FX to 4.8 and crossX'ing two 7970 and keeping those on stock..hoping that it doesnt bottleneck as well. I see that the R280x are the same thing as the 7970's so im not gonna bother with the new ones.

Anyways, what is your recommendation? Im trying to stay with AMD because of Mantle. I don't know how well thats going to work but if it doesnt im moving to Intel+Nvidia.

Im running a single display. 1080p
tx in advance.

No.
There is no card available on the marked that could be bottlenecked with that processor.

Swapping to a 7970 from a 7950 is not going o produce a large enough boost in performance to justify the cost.
If you want to go CF a pair of 7950s are going to be a devastating combination-and you can add a second card for a fraction of the cost of a single 7970.
The most likely issue is the low monitor resolution-IT is effectively going to bottleneck the system to 60FPS!
AMD is letting the cat out of the bag tomorrow, so we'll see how the new R9 2xx stack up.

Damn that sucks. I have my PC hooked up to my 55' TV so i cant do anything about that. It doesnt make any sense getting a 7970 then.

I know this isn't an AMD review, but trust me, this is the only site I've found that has such a wide spectrum of results in its tests.

The exact performance (and placements) varies, if your 7950 is stock (800/1250MHz) or Boost and wheather you're comparing it to a stock or Boost (GHz edition) 7970.
Still think your best options are:
Wait and see what the new stuff brings to the table.
Crossfire the existing 7950.
