Thanks, man! I'm a fan of Sapphire's cards so this will surely be interesting! I sure hope the R7 260X is a lot better than the HD 7790, however we might see about the similar performance given their similar GPUs and cooler design.

I while ago I said that Bonaire was a replacement for Pitcairn which was being EOL'd and someone else claimed that it was a compliment not a replacement but according to that link Bonaire seems to occupy the place that was taken by Pitcairn does it not?

That exactly is why I am excited for Bonaire and the R7 260X

Why? It's only a 7790 with a slightly higher OC than the ones currently on the market.

Mainly because of its VRAM. Wasn't the Bonaire core in the 7790 crippled as well?

The specs look eerily similar to me.

The Curacao XT in the R9 270X appears to be a rebranded Pitcairn XT from the 7870.

From your own link :-
Quote:
Sapphire made three models, all non-reference. The R9 270X is equipped with Curacao XT, and I can finally confirm this is a pure Pitcairn replacement, since it only has 1280 SPs, not 1526 as some said.

Doesn't mean their assessment is accurate considering that 1526 SPs were never offered on Pitcairn. Only the Tahiti LE (aka 7870 XT/LE) had 1526 SPs. The Curacao XT is a direct replica of the Pitcairn XT chip in the 7870. We can wait for the reviews tomorrow for this validation.

This is the lineup. The only stipulation is whether the Curacao XT is a novel chip or just a rebrand of the Pitcairn XT and hopefully there is a clear answer tomorrow :pt1cable:
