I want to overclock my C2D E7650 @(8x333) 2.66 GHz. I am quite scared messing around BIOS. I have tons of question so plz bear with me,
1) I a gamer, and my processor is slightly higher than min specs. Does overclocking make my game run better?
2) I know it varies with Pc, but approx how much speed I can get with overclock with stock cooling?
3) Do I really need to overclock??
4) I read the overclock guide but could not understand much, can any tell me steps to overclock?

Solution
I have E6700 @2.66GHz
And intel 945 jetway motherboard, award phoenix 6.0
It shows overclocking and power user features in BIOS. but i dnt use it as my mobo bottleneck my cpu to 2.00 ghz.

First, you will see a performance jump with an overclock, not as much as you'd see replacing the CPU cause the core 2s are kindve old and slower but in general you might see a 3 to 4 frame per second jump in cpu dependent games which is noticeable smoother in some scenarios.

Stock cooling isn't recommended obv but you can generally get a 300 to 400mhz jump even on stock without getting temps too high.

As far as explaining the overclock procedure, every bios is different, it would depend on your board.
