Hi all,

So I am in the market for a 24 or 27 inch monitor. Looking for gaming needs. Im unsure about the 144hz atm and whats involved/required to get that running smoothly. I want to play games like bf4 on high settings and have it look good. I will be in the market for a new Video Card when they Launch the 8xx GTX's going to SLI them probably 880's gtx's.

Please any advice, Do I need 144hz or can a 2ms monitor work? Should 1920x1080 resolution be sufficient?

Thanks

Specs:
i7-3770k
Z77 asus sabertooth Mobo
16gb DDR3 Corsair Ram
EVGA 570gtx
250gb SSD 840 pro Samsung
750tx PSU corsair

He said he's looking for a new gpu..calm down war.

So ignoring him, looks like you are most interested in fps. In that case the 144 Hz Asus would be a good choice. If you want over 60 Hz your only option is 1920x1080 at the moment, unless you want to "overclock" your monitor. My advice to you would be to buy a new monitor when you buy the new gpu. There may be something new by then or cheaper prices. Your 570 isn't going to push 144 fps in bf4 anyway.
Do you really have such a shitty GPU with that CPU, Ram, PSU and MOBO ?
You can get 2 top of the line GPUs and run them without a problem. Try a new GPU before you buy a monitor.
7950, 7970, Hawaii R9, Nvidia 780

Get 1440p monitor 27+ inch
I heard 1440p game in High setting outperforms Ultra High runing on 1080p.

I head once you go 1440p you're never going back.

Yeah I know my Video Card is dated... :( however i feel the marginally price to performance upgrade is there yet. Hence why i wanted to wait for the new 880gtx. I mean the 780's are better than the 570gtx. But I wonder when the 8xx will come out Q2 Next Year... I can wait :p

I have a 2560x1440 monitors, but don't play a lot of fps. I also can't really tell the difference in response time, but some people say they can. From what I have heard everyone is really happy with the 144 Hz Asus, but only most people are happy with 2560x1440 IPS so that's why I didn't recommend it.
