Hi,

New here, Well I'm having trouble choosing. Price is ok just dont wanna go above the gene. I will be buying locally (Philippines). The G1 sniper and ud3h are about the same price here. ud4h is cheaper than the gene by a small margin.

I have a i5-2500k with a GA-z68ap-d3 mobo. I wanna upgrade now. its been 2 years and thing got boring. I cant go above 4.5 ghz on this mobo or chip. It's solid and woth the price(the mobo) but I would need a lot of vcore. I've read others have improved their oc by switching to higher end mobo's. After 2 years of my z68ap-d3 being functional and stable (below 4.5) I wanna push my chip and see how far it can go. Not going crazy above 5ghz but wanna reach that for fun but for daily use I'd go down a bit.

Note: I'm using a cm hyper 212 evo but I'm planning to upgrade to a wc loop or aio solution in the future. gpu, ssd will follow and mod my case but not in the near future. prob next year. I want to upgrade my mobo first. It's primary and since I want to keep my 2500k. I think it can still go 1-2 more year before another big upgrade.

So here are the 4:

GA-z77x-ud3h, GA-z77x-ud4h, GA-G1-Sniper M3, Asus Maximus V
Gene.

Thunderbolt in the ud4h i wont use probably but after 2 years if i sell the board the buyer may need it.

G1 sniper's creative sound is appealing from what i've read on reviews. though I dont heavily game but I do play, watch movies and listen to music most often.

Asus is well.... OC reliable? which would serve my primary goal is to oc my sandy more and it's matx, it's appealing but would cost some.

The Ud3h i included since its priced same with the g1 sniper. from reviews it can oc well but vs the g1 sniper I haven't found any info comparing both on overclocking.

I would prefer matx but not so important. My wc loop, gpu, ssd and following upgrades would base on the mobo i choose and those are for another time. Firstly the Mobo. Please help me decide.

Those who own these boards pls give some +/- feedback.

Thanks.

Comparing the ud3h with the G1 sniper above, I meant the sniper M3. Not to mislead you, sorry.

Sorry there are no links to refer the prices, i'll be buying in local stores here and the prices are more or less the same in the U.S. Just convert USD to PHP.

Ill start here..... not all cpus are created equal. with that being said the last 3 computers I made run an asus board. i7 950 on and asus rampage 3 extreme @4.82ghz, a 2500k on a asus maximus IV gene-z @5.2ghz, and a 2600k on a asus maximus IV gene-z @ 5.5ghz. Mind you all of these run on over the top custom water loops.

Any one of the 4 boards you have listed are all good boards it just comes down to the features you want and how much you want to spend.

Thanks.

I don't mind spending less on the cheaper boards since I don't use too many features. I only have 1 hdd, I don't like running multiple hdd's. I'd rather sell it and buy a larger capacity if I need more space, an ssd would go along the way. I'm not sure if I go sli or xfire but probably in the future. Iv'e underestimated Gigabyte's On/Off charging feature the past two years with my z68. It's been useful. I'm tempted with the maximus v gene and sniper M3. They look cool, specially on a custom loop.

But price/performance wise which would be a better solution of the 4? the features of the 4 are more than enough for me. So it's price/performance, overclocking, bang for the buck. hehe. I dont mind if you can recommend the pricier boards. I'm confused basically because I don't know what I want from those boards except overclocking and Iv'e read the reviews they are good and quality boards for overclocking except the sniper m3 which I haven't found a lot of reviews.

Thanks again.
