How to delete win7 and install win8

As i said in the title how can i completely delete win 7 and install win 8

boot off the win 8 disk. delete the primary partition and create a new 1. quick format and install windows 8.
or boot off the disk and choose the upgrade option if you want to retain your data but at the cost of performance.
