Draytek Router Slowing ADSL

I have an ADSL Router, Draytek 2800 which seems to somehow be limiting my bandwidth.

BT sent an engineer today who said I should be achieving 15Mb, I am getting 2Mb when going through the router - any help?! I have tried updating firmware but nothing...

Did he say what the actual problem was? An onsite engineer should be able to determine what it might be.

Where was he measuring the theoretical 15Mbps?
Are you wired or wireless?
Is this speed issue consistent across all devices?

He pluggrd in his laptop directly to the socket and did a speed test (although I dont know how that works if he didn't use a router? )

He showed me some figures in his line test that apparently meant the line had amazing performance.

He then pluged his laptop into my router and had same speed test result as me.

I have checked that there isn't bandwidth settings on the router but they are not active.

Any help on this would be much appreciated. I recon bt will try and charge me for the engineer visit now as they didn't find a fault on the line :(

Oh and its a wired connection.

I guess ill have to ask around and try get hold of one! If it is the router, do you have anu suggestions for a good new one? Im on a budget, around £50?
