Should I upgrade or get a better board from the x58 gen?

ok I have an Intel 990x and an Evga sli 3 board x58 with a 580 gtx for dedicated physx and a 690 gtx slid I also have 18 gigs of ram a solid state 120 gb ocz vertex 3 and 3 redundant info drives each 500 gbs and a 1 tb drive I am running windows 7 and I have like 2 options go with a new x79 board with a new 6 core processor the 500 dollar one cant afford to go all out again. or I keep what I have and upgrade the to the asus maximus I think for the native sata 3 but still gimped pci what should I do cause I am not all that up on this new hardware ever since I built the beast. Any and all info is welcome, and thanks for your time.

I keep your money in the bank till april of next year. at some point next year the new e line of cpu are dropping with the new chipset.

I hear ya - Ive been looking at x79 and a 6 core Ivy-E - tough call. I know the memory and sata would be a big improvement. Depends on the primary use of your computer.

Its definitely for games I am a hardcore game head and have come to hate consoles so I use my comp as a my main gaming machine

well I think I am going to wait thanks for your answers guys I was looking at what they are saying about 2014 and I think it looks good. Plus I have had no issue playing games as of yet so I don't see anything by 2014 giving me problems anyway great answers guys thanks.
