GPU & Motherboard Compatibility?

Hi,

I was hoping you could all help me figure out if an Asus Z87 Pro would work with a Geforce gtx 760. The reason I am unsure is because the 760 requires an 8 pin pci express power connector and I'm not sure if the motherboard will have that. Doesn't specifically list it when I look up the specs of the motherboard, but I'm relatively new to the building pc business so I may be missing it.

Actually you need to post what Power supply you plan on using for the 760 the MB doesn't matter for power.

Basically the MB doesn't supply enough power for the video card which is why you need the 8 pin pci power connector. This connector is located on the PSU not the MB.

So again your MB if fine heck looks to be "overkill" if your new to building PC's the real question is what PS are you planing to use/buy.
