Trying to get windows wireless reciever to work, please help

I just bought an official Microsoft receiver specifically for playing dark souls. Anyways its been a huge hassle and microsoft technical support ended up charging me money, their fuckn ridiculous. Sorry need to vent here. So my issue is that my unknows device will not find the drivers, everytime I go to update driver it says its not recommended because " windows doesn't recognize driver, and hardware could be affected computer may stop working". So should I just go ahead and click yes anyways? Or would you advise not to...If anyone has overcome this issue Id appreciate the input, just wanna play dark souls already!

Try that driver. At this point, it can't hurt.

But without knowing more about the wifi device, it's hard to help.

As far as what receiver I cant really say on the packaging all it said was wireless Microsoft receiver. I am operating under windows 8 64 bit. Im not that far from the wifi source I don't believe thats the issue, it said finally it did find a driver but that windows doesn't recognize it so I shouldn't install it.

I believe I figured it out, I looked on a forum and I was basically one step away just had to allow windows in spite of the warning and it worked. Thanks for replyn' though appreciate it.
