Spec:
ASRock Extreme3 970 R2.0
AMD Bulldozer FX 8320 3.5GHZ
Corsair Vengence 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz
Corsair H80i Liquid Cooling
Corsair GS 700W

Could someone just walk me through overclocking this system to 4.2Ghz or 4.4Ghz ??

Just what settings I should be changing like ht link, nb, voltages or whatever

I actually dont even know what settings to be changing except the cpu clock speed and ht

You should be able to get to 4.2 without messing with voltages, you just need to change the bus speed and multipliers so that it multiplies to 4200, like 210x20. I'm not sure what the specifics are for your motherboard, though.

well my ASRock has a power phase of 4+2 which isn't great for overclocking .. so through some research no ocing for me .. gunna get a gigabyte or sabertooth 990FX with a power phase of 8+2 ..

I've been reading all about power phases .. 4+2 (4 lanes to cpu, 1 to ram 1 to HT) isn't stable enough to Overclock the FX 8320 .. whereas the 990FX boards will because of their 8+2 power phase (8 lanes to cpu, 1 to ram, 1 to HT)

and to properly overlclock you need to mess with voltages.

anytime i OC to 4.2 because thats what i though aswell ewok93 .. windows automatically disables aero .. I increased the voltage bit by bit nothing changed escept after increasing it bit by bit it became unstable so i stopped thats when i found out about power phases
