I am using Windows Vista and have an ATI Radeon HD 4650 graphics card. I just updated the graphics card, and now my resolution only has two options: 1024x768, and 800x600. Normally my screen runs at 1980x1020 with a 16:9 aspect ratio at 60 Hz. My monitor is an HP w2338h. I have had this issue before where my resolution drops but I am able to change it back. in this instance that is not the case. Any ideas?

More about : resolution past 1024x768 updating ati driver

it might be a bug, Have you tried the short way? -> Right click on the right CCC icon > click on your GPU name (ATI Radeon 4000 series) > click on "Set desktop area to" > click your resolution

If you did try the above and failed:

1. Did you install the monitor driver?

2. Did you update your mobo, BIOS and CPU drivers from your mobo manufacture ?

3. Do you have the "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x86) and (x64) ? - The easiest way to check this is by going to Control Panel > Uninstall a Program > look for Microsoft installed things and youll see about 10 of the C++ stuff.

Okay I tried the first with the CCC res change, but it only gives me resolutions below 1024x768. My monitor driver has been updated.I have the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x86) and (x64). I am currently updating my CPU driver. What do you mean by mobo?

Mobo means MOtherBOard and its drivers are the most important. I repeat, updade the drivers ONLY from its manufacturer website.
