Hey,

I have an i5 3570k and asrock z77 pro 3. I have had my cpu overclocked for about a month to 4.4 Ghz with no problems. Now, whenever I go into CPUZ after booting up the PC the core speed shows at 4.4 for a few seconds and then goes down to 3.4. (stock). I have speedstep and C1e disabled, and I am running on the high performance power plan.

CPUZ is still showing the correct multiplier, but does not show the core speed.

I have tried running prime95 to run the cpu at max to see if it would go up, but it did not.

If anyone knows how to fix this issue, I would greatly appreciate it!

Here's some possibilities.

Since it is an ASRock M/B it could be if you've done a recent BIOS flash?

Meaning you would need to completely reset your overclock settings.

Have you had a recent major crash?

ASRock M/Bs sometimes default the BIOS settings after a major crash?

Ok so I think I figured out the problem. It was just a minor issue. Whenever I opened CPUZ I also opened Realtemp right after that. Realtemp had turbo boost enabled which was resetting my overclock.

Thanks for the help guys.
