Is it possible to get a Samsung SSD to play nice with a Marvell 9128 controller?

I installed the SSD ans was getting blue screens, so I uninstalled the SSD but was still getting blue screens. I then went in to Device Manager and found some remnant Samsung driver and uninstalled it as well as the Samsung software. BSOD problem has vanished.

Is there a way I can get this drive to work on a Marvell 9128 SATA 3 port?

Who Crashed was saying in the dump file that there was a problem with the Marvell driver, but I checked and it's updated to the latest version.

Put the SSD on a an AMD or Intel Sata port. Sata 2 wont make a difference as the Marvel 9128 sata3 is not any faster. They seem to work fine with optical drives if you need to move something to make room for the SSD on the chipset controller.

Thanks popatim, that's probably what I'll end up doing. I've just been incredibly lazy lately and don't really feel like having to take the drive cage out of my tiny and cramped case. The Sata ports are literally right next to and almost touching it. Was kinda hoping that I could get the 840 working on the Marvell port just so I could reach into my machine and simply plug the cables back into the drive. Marvell speeds haven't really been bothering me all that much, I just read somewhere that people said intel was better and started to wonder if I should switch.

I probably will now.

Do you know.. will it cause any problems if I switch my Sata 2 ports over to AHCI mode in the BIOS? I would need that to get the most out of my SSD, even on an intel port, right?

Currently, I have 3 hard drives and one optical on the sata 2 ports in IDE. And 1 SSD with Win 7 in AHCI on one of the sata 3 ports.
