Hey there

I have 100 Gb folder with sounds stored on Mac computer (not sure which OS), and I need to copy it on the Hard Drive formatted for Windows. The hard drive is formatted in NTFS. When I try to copy, it would not do it. I copied smaller folder inside of this big folder on 32 Gb USB stick. I do not know what format they format USB sticks- it may be Fat 32, but it was able to copy. I have another drive, also formatted in NTFS, it probably would not work. How do I copy this folder? Thank you.

I wonder if you can connect the Hard drive formatted for Windows and connect that to a Windows machine. On the Windows machine with the connected Hard Drive, create a shared folder. Connect both Windows Machine and Mac Computer onto the network. Copy and paste the 100 GB folder onto the Windows machine's shared folder.

Since the drive is formatted as NTFS you will only be able to read from the drive and not write to it without 3rd party software. You might find this link useful: http://www.macbreaker.com/2012/02/enable-write-for-ntfs...
Another option is to format the disk as a DOS disk (I believe that is the option) on the Mac and you should be able to read and write to the drive from both the PC and the Mac. However, you need to be aware of the 4GB file size limitation. Files over 4GB in size won't be written in FAT32.

Thank you for your replies. I can not connect 2 computers as they are in a different locations. I also can not install anything on that computer. I probably could, but I would have to explain what I am installing and why. So if I have something formatted in FAT 32, I will not be able to copy more than 4 Gb? This is confusing. Then how do they put 100 Gb folder on their internal hard drive? Somehow Mac can handle it. If I even get new hard drive and format it on Mac, in Fat 32, I will still not able to move the files?

You will be able to copy more than 4GB, it just won't copy a single file that is more than 4GB in size. For example if you have 200 files and one of them is 4.2 GB in size then it will copy over every file except that one (199). A Mac hard drive is not formatted as FAT32 and can handle files larger than 4GB but FAT32 is recognized by both Windows and OS X and is usually used for drives shared between the two.
