Can you guys give me a suggestion for my friend's PC build? I'm helping him with it but I'm not as up-to-date as I should be with PC components.

Purpose: Gaming & video editing; he stresses quick video rendering, so I'm thinking i7? If so then which?

Please break it down to these:
CPU
CPU Cooler
Motherboard
RAM
SSD
Storage
GPU
Case (one that fits 2 HDD's + 1 SSD; which is common)
Power Supply

Already has:
HDD x 2
Blu-ray Drive

Thanks!

Normally I like Intel, but for brute force, overclock an FX-8350 with 8 cores... it does more than enough on gaming, but it will probably cut down a lot off your rendering time. Same with the XFX 7970, it's great for gaming, but it has a ton of rendering and compute power.

The case is whatever... simple, black, spacious. The total Comes out to $850 after rebates, but you can always find better deals on the individual pieces. Also, if you aren't comfortable overclocking the CPU, drop the H80i and get a decent (and much cheaper) air cooler to save some money.

Hope this helps.
