My mother board z77 has a 4 pin power connector on it and it doesn't work without it.
I bought a new psu ,corsair hx850
And it doesn't have that connection.
So my question is what do I do?
Will an adapter from molex to 4 pin work?
Also can I use an other power supply and just use the 4 pin connector from it? Won't it give all the power through this one cable and burn my motherboard

Base on your PSU spec, It have 6 PCI-e connector, 1 ATX connector, 1 EPS connector, Look for EPs Connector of your PSU, If it is 8 pin, connect the half (4 pin) to your motherboard.

What he mean is EPS connector. Its an 8 pin together, can divide into 2.
4+4=8 pin
