Hey there,

I have three screens running on a 7970 with 2 mini display port, 1 hdmi and one dvi output.

My monitors only take HDMI. At the moment I'm using two minidisplayport cables to HDMI and one HDMI to HDMI cable.

But I can only run two screens at any one time.

Can someone help me with getting the other to work?

Thanks
Mushcroom

Are you using an active or passive dp adapter?

I've literally just plugged them into my graphics card.

I've bought one active adapter to plug into one of my minidisplay ports on my card, would that solve the issue?

Thanks

Yeah I've read that you need an active adapter. Other than that I don't know what the issue could be.

Okay awesome, thanks for the reply. I'll give it a go tomorrow once I receive the adapter and post back the results.

Thanks very much!

Thanks very much, it worked after plugging one active adapter into a minidisplay port so my setup is now:

HDMI -> HDMI
MiniDisplay port -> active adapter -> HDMI
MiniDisplay port -> HDMI

In case anyone needs to reference it..

Thanks again!

Glad to see you got it working. May I ask how you like the setup? I have 2560x1440 and was just wondering if I would have enjoyed 5760x1080 more.

Thanks :)

The setup is really nice so far. The only thing which is letting it down a little is my lack of a large enough desk to sit further away from it as it probably isn't too great for the eyes to sit within a couple feet of the screens.

But yeah, I would definitely recommend it! If you could get three 2560x1440s, that'd be one awesome setup!

Ha I thought about doing three in portrait for 4320x2560, but I don't want to spend another ~$3000 between monitors, cables, and gpus to run it. I sit about 3 feet from my monitor and I got used to it real fast. Anyway, enjoy the setup.
