Hey everyone!
First of all let me thank in advance to anyone who can help me, because I'm a newbie as far as pc building is concerned..
The plan is to build a gaming pc, nothing extreme, the goal is to build a machine that can play recent games with at least high settings smoothly, I don't mind THAT much with ultra settings for now but if any of the builds can reach them all the better :),. Thing is, after much research I came up with 2 builds, one with an AMD CPU and the other with an Intel one. So..I just want to be sure all the parts in the builds are well chosen, compatible and which of the builds may reach my goal in a better way. There's not that much of a difference component wise between the builds, the only differences are the CPU and Motherboards, the rest is the same. Budget wise, the difference is that the build with the Intel CPU is almost CHF 100 (Swiss Francs) more expensive, but both are within my budget. So here are the builds:

AMD Build
GPU - Zotac Geforce GTX760 AMP! Edition 2GB DDR5-RAM
CPU - AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz
Memory - Corsair ValueSelect CL11 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-RAM 1600MHz
Case - Zalman Z3 Plus Mid-Tower Black
Motherboard - ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3
PSU - XFX Pro Core Edition 550W
Hard Drive - Western Digital 1TB SATA3
DVD Drive - LiteOn IHAS524-T07 - 24x

Intel Build
GPU - Zotac Geforce GTX760 AMP! Edition 2GB DDR5-RAM
CPU - Intel Core i5-3470 3.2GHz
Memory - Corsair ValueSelect CL11 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-RAM 1600MHz
Case - Zalman Z3 Plus Mid-Tower Black
Motherboard - ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 OR ASUS B75M-PLUS
PSU - XFX Pro Core Edition 550W
Hard Drive - Western Digital 1TB SATA3
DVD Drive - LiteOn IHAS524-T07 - 24x

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the answer saint19. Ok, so the i5-3470 will work well with the Asus B75M-Plus Mobo? Do I need to buy a CPU fan or the stock one's good enough? Lastly, I forgot to mention, I want to play using my LCD TV and not a standard monitor.

Keep in mind that the motherboard ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 only is compatible with AMD CPUs, so, in the 2nd build you only option is the ASUS B75M-Plus, I checked that motherboard in the ASUS web page and support your i5-3470 without problems. If you can get an aftermarket cooler like Hyper 212 Evo, would be great.
