Gateway support informed me that I need to purchase a new video card to support dual monitors. I have a Gateway DX4885-UR21 and 2 ASUS monitors. What video card will support the dual monitors?

Lots of cards can support dual monitors. What budget do you have? and what are you going to be doing on the dual monitors?

I can suggest one AMD and two Nvidia --all three of these cards are $400+ and you need a fairly decent wattage PSU--

AMD Radeon 7990 -Really cheap and a beast for gaming on 1-5 monitors, Finally AMD has done a pretty good fix on the micro-stuttering. Eyefinity is really good for 2+ Monitor setups, Mostly better than Nvidia. This card is a DUAL 7970 GPU which requires a 750 watt PSU. This card is 2x 384-bit memory bus with a total of 6GB GDDR5 Vram.

GeForce GTX 770 or GTX 780 - Both strong cards with the 770 having a 2GB 256-bit memory bus and the GTX 780 with 384-Bit 3GB memory bus.

If your budget is tight then ignore EVERYTHING i listed above. If you have a small budget then get a GTX 760 2GB or even an Radeon HD 7950 3GB will work just fine (They can be found under $299). Be aware in just 7 days AMD are releasing their new Hawaii-based GPU's. Just check your PSU, advise what you are doing on it and your Price will get you the answers you want. Hope this helps

Thanks for the quick response! To be honest, I am setting up these monitors for my boss and know very little about this stuff. Our budget is definitely tight (we are a non-profit org) so I think the least expensive ones are the best options. The dual monitors are for general office work- basically to make things easier to view and more efficient with multiple programs open.

You could probably go around and get a AMD 7790 or even a Nvidia GTX 650 Ti, That is if your budget is really tight.
