Hey! This is my current rig
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1Mjgx
And I'm upgrading my GPU in a couple of weeks, but I live outside the U.S and the taxes are pretty high, so what I basically need to know is what is the highest GPU my PSU will supply without any problem.
And it has to be around 200$ (Amazon price), I was thinking about the new R9270X or the 7870..but I'm afraid that the R9 comes deffective because I wouldn't be able to RMA it..

My case space for the GPU is about 12in :)

270X is the better one here,it's better than even 7950.And it fits in your 200$ budget, but I would suggest not getting the reference card and getting a Sapphire or MSI one instead for $10 more. And your PSU can even run upto a R9 280X or a GTX 770,maybe a Titan or 780 also but that becomes slightly risky. If you're thinking about DOA cards, you better buy from your own country rather than Amazon. There is a more or less chance of every cards to be dead on arrival so better not take the risk.

Hmm the problem is that the new series will get here in a couple of months or so..but looking at that chart it would be better if I just get a 7950 rigth?
And Ujan, how do you "measure" that my PSU can run these cards? I don't understand that much about PSUs :s

7950 comes at $20 more but with only 1% performance increase. But it is still a good option if your budget allows.
And yours is a corsair TX-550W PSU.These cards draw from 110-120W which means quite some power is left over unused(adding power draw of other components) so your PSU can run these without the slightest risk.
You can take the 7950,it also has 3 free games.

I don't want to run any risks with the 270X because of DOA issues or something like that..
It's a VX550W but I guess they're similar..
The 7950 draws like 270W at full load or something like that, right?

Your PSU is a 550W Bronze so stop thinking. You can even run a Titan with it.

Ur psu is 550watt 80+ certified so no problems even CX500watt is enough for ur system. 7950 and 270x have same performance but 7950 have 3gb of vram compared to 2gb of 270x so if the price is very close than get 7950.
