6670 low FPS questions

Long time reader, first time poster. Please be nice...I know I need a better card, and November will probably do it. $$ as always and graphics was the last part I needed on this new build.

Reading the "low benchmark" review here for Farcry3 I see I should be getting aprox 40fps. In game is about 20. Ouch.

I'm willing to OC the 6670 but feel like something else is amiss. So trying to fix that before cranking it up.

Furmark burnin at 1680x1050 FPS =2.
Core 800mhz ; mem 667; vddc 1.100v ; max temp 56c

As rock z77
256gb sataiii ssd
16gb ddr3
850w psu
Corsair h100i cooler
Vengence case
I5 3570k @3.4ghz
Win7 64

It depends on how they benched it. Indoors the frame rates are better than outside and it also depends on the settings. The 6670 is an entry level card for sure.

I would turn down some settings like shadows, aa and ao(ambient occlusion, maybe turn this OFF) to see if you can get better performance.

Try to SSAO(that is ambient occlusion) as disabled. It is very hard of lower end hardware(and even takes a chunk from mid-higher end hardware as well).
