Quick Question: Does running SLI at x16/x16 have any measurable FPS gain over the normal x8/x8?

Context: I am building a new system and will be gaming at 1080p, but on the new 144Hz Asus monitor so I would like stable 100+ FPS on high/ultra settings. Going with 2 GTX 760s in SLI (never going to go 3 or 4-way sli), an i7 4770k overclocked as high as I safely can, and considering a ASUS Z87-WS mobo. As usual, any suggestions on the build are welcome - favoring performance more than value, but value still matters a bit.

Solution
Not worth it, no.
That board support 2 x PCI-e 2.0 in 16x16 OR PCI-e 3.0 in 8x8.

Makes no difference to be honest, you will be happy with a board at half of that cost.

Well you won't be able to get 16x in SLI with a Z87 board. 8x 8x at PCIe 3.0 and an additional 8x (or 4x 1x 1x 1x slots) slot that can't be used for SLI.

You would have to get an X79 board and a LGA2011 processor to have a go at dual 16x. Would be a fairly expensive board.
