I have a Phenom CPU from 2006. The motherboard & PSU burnt on the system it was in, so I'm trying to find a replacement Motherboard for it & am (of course) having trouble. EVERYTHING I can find about the Phenom CPU is about the II, X2, X3, X4 etc & nothing is about the plain old Phenom. Even when I do a search on the AMD site for my CPU part number, I get nothing. Does anybody know if a Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H motherboard work with my Phenom processor?

Thank you in advance for any help I can get.

MA785GM-LE from ASRock seems to support, so I imagine that one from Gigabyte with the same chipset will as well. Original Phenom was an AM2 chip and these are the onl boards I can find that might support it at all.

Never upgraded to it myself because it would have been sort of a downgrade. The dual core Athlon X2 at the time had higher clock speeds. Phenom II was when it started to make sense.

Thank you. I had already gone to that link, but couldn't really tell if it did or didn't support my CPU. I always like to get a second opinion when I'm not sure (& even sometimes when I am sure). Thank you for the help! I'm off to purchase the board & get that system back in the action.
