1Tb HDD filling up. Is a 2Tb HDD addition compatible?

Hey guys,

I have a 1Tb Seagate Barracuda HDD, and it's filling up fast ( 75Gbs left). If I get a 2Tb of the same model, will it just slide right in as an addition, or is there some formatting that needs to be done?

And does it have to be the same memory size or something weird I'm not thinking about?

I realize configuring them, and telling programs where to be saved to is probably needed, but I was just wondering how involved the process is.

Any comments welcome. Thanks

Assuming this is a desktop, adding another drive is no problem at all.

Your new drive becomes "D". Save to, or install to, or move stuff to...as needed

Your new drive becomes "D". Save to, or install to, or move stuff to...as needed.

And it doesn't have to be the same manufacturer or model. Any standard HDD will work.
