An 0.6Ghz per core is ~2.4Ghz in Overall performance (when using all cores).
It does not work that way.
Back to the OP's question, yes it is worth it. The 760k is a newer and better revision (Richland) vs the 740 and 750k (trinity). Plus the improved clock speed on top of it.
