Battlefield 4 Crossfire issues

hi All,

I've installed the BF4 beta game, but I'm having issues with playing it with my 7950's in crossfire.
My rig is;
I5-3570K
HIS IceQ 7950 (two)
8GB G skilll 2133

I have installed the latest CCC 13.10 Beta 2 which claims to support BF4 crossfire, although I've also tried the previous 13.10.

When I load the game in single GPU mode, there are no issues (apart from the CPU being at 100% all the time whether it's clocked at 3.4GHz or 4.7GHz!!). I get around 70fps.

When I load in crossfire mode, it gets right up to the point where it would display the entry screen (where you click DEPLOY) and then crashes.

It either reports DirectX 11 issue or low memory and had to close. However, checking the resources, it's only using 4GB or RAM and 2GB of video memory.

If I load in windowed mode (so that only one GPU is used) it's fine up to the entry screen, but as soon as I CTRL ENTER to make it full screen (and hence use both GPUs) is crashes with the same error.

Has anyone else had this issue? I searched the net, but can't find any reference to crossfire issues.

Thanks

Solution
I think I've fixed it! Tonight I updated the CCC to 13.11, still no luck. When it crashed reporting low memory, I check the resources, 3GB free still (out of 8GB) hmm.

Then, in a flash of inspiration, I went to my paging file settings (virtual memory), I had set it to 0MB as I have an SSD and thought 8GB would be enough.
I tried setting it to auto and BF4 worked! The pagefile was auto set to 8GB, so perhaps 16GB of memory would be better.
I will continue to test tonight.
Now I seem to have crossfire working. I don't know why it would crash with crossfire, but be fine with a single card, it must be more demanding on memory with crossfire or something.
cheers

hi, thanks for your reply, but I think the PCI lanes are limited by the CPU with only the Xeons supporting two PCIe 3.0 at x16. All I5 and I7 are 1 x 16 or 2 x 8 lanes and the AMD CPUs are the same with PCIe 2.0.

So most people will be using x8 with dual cards and this is perfectly fine with any other game, so I'm not sure how this issue could be related.
