PCIe 2.0 vs PCIe 3.0 Impact on games

Hi everyone
I've been searching the forum for an answer about it and couldn't find a real one..
So this is my concern , i have a ASUS Sabertooth 990FX 2.0R witch has PCIe 2.0 slots only, My GPU is a PCIe 3.0 - i know they work together BUT is my mobo PCIe 2.0 slot sort of "bottlenecking" my PCIe 3.0 GPU in any noticeable way? (maybe in OC or Crossfire?)

Thx very very much for any answer!

  1. What is the card? In just about any case the card wont have the bandwidth to fill the slot. A titan or something like that might, maybe a few frames, but its nothing to worry about

  3. Yeah you are in the clear then. By the way, great card.

Thx, so there is no difference in matter of graphics/games while OC or using crossfire as well ? even if there is a difference of like X2 more bandwidth in the PCIe 3.0 ?

As long as it is an x16 lane there is no difference, if you get a card that CAN fill the lane then there would be, but those are cards like the titan and 7990.
