Help understanding and reaching 1440p

Ok so I know there are different qualities from like 420-1080 and recently i heard about 1440. Im a bit behind the ball sorry. But can someone tell me how to tell what the display is for a monitor, this is the one i have

Is it possible for me to reach 1440p on this monitor and how could i do it if so or will i be maxed at 1080p. can someone help explain plz. Thanks ahead of time.

No, thats a 1080p monitor. The resolution is essentially the amount of pixels, a 1080p display has about 2 million pixels, a 1440p display has about 3.7 million, so its not a case of forcing a higher resolution, it either is or isn't supported.

1440p is the resolution. That monitor you linked is 1080p resolution. You can't make it show more pixels than it has.

1440p is 2560x1440 pixels
1080p is 1920x1080 pixels

.....and being that much higher resolution it will tax your current gpu almost twice as much. If you do go with 1440 - you need a good GPU to make it work properly.
