I am planning to assemble my first server. I am planning to use either Xeon E5-2620 V2 or Xeon E5-2630 V2. Could someone suggest any AMD Opteron processors with same or better performance?

Also which mother board should I buy. I couldn't find reviews for some of them in the following

GB GA-6PXSV4 or Asus P9X79 E-WS or GB GA-X79S-UP5 or ASRock X79.

Any suggestion would be appreciated. I won't be using it to play games. Mostly database and computational work.

One of the big features of the X79 is DRAM and quad channel, think Asus handles it best, and good features, like the Rock X79 mobos, but not real thrilled with the GB mobos on that chipset - other brands I simply don't touch
