So I wish to connect an old hard drive to my old pc and use it as a slave drive. What would this entail?
I as I understand it I'd need an extended IDE cable and switch the "jumper" on the HD to change its mode... I'm just not sure how you are supposed to connect it to the power supply. Can you get some sort of extension cable to split the power between them? I really have no idea how power supplies work.
I presume once everything is connected it's pretty much plain sailing once everything's connected.

note: the HD in question is a "maxtor diamond plus 9 80gb ata/133 hdd".
