Is a 256GB SSD for my only storage enough?

Not at all!
256 GB is not enough in all likeliness. On my 1 TB HDD at home I blasted straight through 500 GB and currently have only 430 GB left, perhaps less (I'm at college and can't check, but I'm positive it's 430 GB or less). That only includes the operating system, anti-virus, a few very small programs, and games! Obviously most of that was games but I didn't have any bit of music or documents on there. So chances are, 256 GB is not enough.

Pick up a 1 TB HDD as well. They're only around $70.

What is your usage like currently? How many games do you install/play concurrently? What is the size of your document/media library, and do you plan to keep it on the main drive?

I daresay 256GB main SSD drive space should be enough unless you have a large media library and/or many new games. If not, perhaps you can opt for a dual drive SSD (OS + some apps/games) and HDD (backups, media library, rest of your games). Most games won't really benefit from an SSD, apart from those which need to load extended texture packs/open worlds.

Put your OS and start up programs on the SSD, and then all your games, music, documents, etc on the HDD.
