I bought this motherboard refurbished from frys and it did not come with the driver installation cd:( know the motherboard has a Supreme FX 2 or 3 chip; so what driver to i have to download specifically? :??:
I have logitech z506 speakers hooked up to it; and while I know they are not the best speakers-they are still 5.1 surround.
I also have a logitech g930 headset which I just spent 100 bucks on.
I simply want to be sure I am getting the best possible audio experience i can get given the hardware i am using.

Thanks!

Go here: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/CROSSHAIR_V_FORMULAZ/#support

Click on the Drivers and Tools tab
Select your Operating System

Download the latest from under the following:

-Chipset
-Audio
-LAN
-SATA

If needed, download the hotfix as well. If you're not using APRP, then don't worry about it.

Edit: Depending on what CPU your getting, a BIOS update may also be required.

For the chipset and sata; Is that something I would have to reinstall when re-installing windows 7?

Its 64bit, and Im using an fx-8320

Thanks:)

Download these drivers (all of them) to a USB stick or burn them to a CD before you build your system with the new motherboard. After you've installed Windows 7 onto the system with the new motherboard, install the drivers from the USB/CD-ROM.

Ok, so the AHCI drivers; the chipset drivers; and the sata drivers are to be re installed when erasing and reinstalling windows 7?

I just want to be sure.

I had those items installed before I erased my hard drive, but wasnt sure if those particular 3 items had to be installed everytime I wipe my hdd.

Sorry if im coming off as noobish.

Can anyone answer whether or not the ahci driver and chipset driver must be installed everytime you erase and reinstall windows?

I bet it sounds noobish, but I just want to be sure.
