Actually, the HD 4850 was still called ATi. ;-)

That card has seen its day and its day is past. I just upgraded my two XFX Radeon HD 4870s that I had in crossfire for 4 years. Time to get something better. You've probably had that thing for 5 years or more. Nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky. Fortunately for you, newegg has a sale on a card that is more powerful than an ATi Radeon HD 4870x2, the Powercolor Radeon HD 7870XT 2GB MYST Edition:
Powercolor Radeon HD 7870XT 2GB MYST Edition - $180 (-$30 mail-in-rebate)

Depending on the 12V amperage of the power supply, it might be that the video card isnt getting enough power. Do you happen to know the 12V amperage? It should be on the label.

10a on the 12V rail is too low for any graphics card at all. 10a is about 120W of power on the 12V. The 3570 uses 77W.
