Catalyst: Which settings do I need to configure properly to "enhance" viewing/gaming experience?

I'm currently using HD7950 with Catalyst 13.4 (the newer versions are giving me all sorts of problems so I'm temporary using the older version) and except for turning off "GPU scaling", I haven't touched any settings on Catalyst as everything is left as it is (i.e default settings). The reason is because I haven't encountered any big problems and most of all, I'm not sure which settings to configure or not.

With that being said, I'm planning to buy a new monitor soon (Asus MX238H or Dell P2414H) and I was wondering if I need to configure any settings to enhance my viewing/gaming experience... or just leave it as it is?

Also, I'm not sure if you need these info but:
- I'm not a heavy gamer as I balance it out between watching and gaming
- When I say "viewing", I'm referring to watching via GPU-accelarated video playback (such as Potplayer or MPC-HC)

Thank you, help would be appreciated it.

I happened find this thread and the first post mentions several tweaks to "improve" the viewing experience. Are those irrelevant at this point or is it worth tweaking the settings?

Unfortunately, I'm not very fond of using 27" monitors as I had a bad experience with Asus PB278Q. The screen was too big for my use and the PWM flickering really got me so I returned it straight away.
23~24" monitors are the right size for me atm and maybe later if I'm interested in bigger screen, I'll get one.
More so, I have looked at various 23" monitors and those two are the best that I could find which closely meets my needs (with Eizo Foris FS2333 being the second).

I thought of getting that monitor however the 3D coatings on the screen and the PWM flickering is pretty aggressive according to most reviews as well as the 3D aspect itself is pretty useless for me since I don't play any 3D games.

I'm just wondering, is there something wrong with the two monitors I've mentioned above?
